Cairn: It's Just A Bunch Of Rocks, Right?

So, unbeknownst to me, cairns are a "thing."

People like to put these things in the rock gardens, their front yards, their living rooms.

This company called Garden Age Supply imports these stones from Indonesia and then either carves some words in them or even stacks them up for you (a cairn!) and some of 'em even spout water.

But why buy? They're relaxing. They apparently have some sort of "zen" or "meditative" qualities. They provide balance and stability in a confusing, mixed up world. They tie the room together like Lebowski's rug.

I really don't know the answer.

What I do know is that they're selling like freakin' hotcakes!
